Pre-Appointment:
*IMPORTANT*
Cold sores are a very possible risk of lip blush tattoo due to trauma to the lips. Please note if you have EVER, even ONCE, had a cold sore in the past, you MUST ask your Doctor to write you a script for an Anti-Viral medication BEFORE your appointment and be PRE-MEDICATED for 7 days & take it 7 days AFTER your appointment while you are healing.
If you avoid this step, you WILL LIKELY break out with a fever blister while healing. If you avoid this precaution, it is out of my hands if you develop a fever blister while you are healing.
Even if you have not had a cold sore before, you may have & not have known- I still highly recommend all of my clients take L-lysine 2 weeks before the appointment and 2 weeks following the appointment to reduce the risk OR ask their PCP for anti-viral medication for a lip procedure, they should be willing to write it.

- Cosmetic botox or fillers should be done 2 weeks prior or 2 weeks after.
- DO NOT consume alcohol, caffeine or take any blood thinners (aspirin, ibuprofen, Niacin 48 hours before your procedure, this will cause excess bleeding and may affect your results)
- You may experience hypersensitivity and more pain around or during your menstrual cycle.
- For added comfort please feel free to ask any pharmacist for prescription strength numbing cream to apply before your appointment to make sure you are even more comfortable. Apply it to your lips 60 min before your appointment. This is not necessary however for some nervous clients, it is comforting.
- We will not be able to tattoo over any blemishes, sores, and moles in or around the lip area.
- Your lips cannot be dry for the appointment. If they are dry or your lips are cracked, we will need to reschedule & you will lose your deposit. You may exfoliate using a natural sugar lip scrub 3 days before your appointment to remove any dry skin. Moisturize your lips with chapstick as much as possible before your appointment.
Aftercare:
Lips heal in three stages: Too dark - Too light - Just right. This takes about one month to happen. Please note that your lip blush will heal much less vibrant than your initial tattoo.
Your Lips will feel very swollen and very dry after your treatment, this is all normal.
After lips are no longer tender to the touch they may become flaky. This is normal and is expected.

- Apply the Gloss Aftercare Ointment on your lips several times a day. This should be done for at least 14 days and dryness has passed. Do not allow lips to become dry, always keep them moisturized as chapping may interfere with healed color.

- Please do not pick or scratch at them. This may significantly reduce the amount pigment absorption.
- Avoid the sun and tanning beds pre and post procedure. Be sure to use a sun block once lips are healed. Do not use any Glycolic, Hydroxy or fruit acid products on lips.
- Avoid direct water pressure, pools and other bodies of water, until healed.
- Avoid oily, salty, acidic foods and alcohol while healing.
Lips are a muscle and WILL require a touch-up session to achieve desired results. Lips are unpredictable. Some clients will achieve a very strong healed lip color after one treatment, while others will only heal with slight color uptake. This will vary on an individual basis. Clients with sun damage, scar tissue (from injury or fever blisters) and clients with implants may not have strong results. Hyperpigmentation can happen on any lip client without warning.
